Mae Yoshikawa

Mae began her practice of Ashtanga Yoga in '01. Since '04, she has been learning directly from Sri K. Pattabhi Jois and R. Sharath Jois in India. In '06, she became the first Japanese woman to be Authorized by KPJAYI. She has been the cover model for Japanese YOGINI magazine since '04. A mother, as well as a yoga teacher and author, Mae opened her studio 'veda' in Tokyo in '11 to offer various health and lifestyle improvement programs.

Japanese women are very much interested in yoga. Because today's modern woman is not merely interested in physical beauty. Of course we care about our body, but we also care about matters of our mind. Yoga itself is a purification of the body and mind.
